June 30, 2017 -- day 30
Wow. Here I am starting a second game.
Still a bit glad I can go make a second game though... :)
And this time, I'm making a a top-down, tile based puzzle game.
I remember the days I played and come to love those type of games.
Although it may have a more simple way of solving the puzzle without tons of items, time constraint etc.
The best way you can think of will be the picture below. It is one of the sole inspiration for my game...
Also, this game Tinker from Windows Ultimate Extra, love it.
Also some other games like Chuck's Challenge, Chu Chu Rocket comes in mind as well! ;)
But the game mechanics I intended are not like those games, something that I'll like to write about in future.
I already have clear directions on the mood & looks for this new game:
It will have a 12-bit/16-bit retro pixelated look. Oh yeah, the theme will be based on alien planets, the places can be simplistic, elemental, other-earthy or surreal. And the character will be an alien as well! The music will be somewhat retro, with some synth music (with modern EDM sounding).
And lastly, a brief about my current development status:
Actually, I've already done a good portions of the game structure.
These are the parts been implemented:
Again, everything is still very-very early stage. What you see in the upcoming screenshots are not final, some of them are even placeholders.
Next post, I'll reveal the alien "hero", and also how the draft stages plays out.
