Jan 13 ,2015 -- Day 3 (Very first dev log)
Now, I'm working on game prototypes using free version of Construct 2. So far the development experience is positive. Had some learning curves going on, which could take some time working in the 'prototype' stage.
I've done the 1st part of the game prototype: cooking system. Nothing fancy looking here, I'm just focused on the sim game mechanics. (more functions will be added in further development.) I have split the game prototype into 3, because I can't use more events due to the limitation of the game engine's free edition. I will definitely get myself a licensed copy soon when starting alpha development. (let's hope there will be a discount in January :))
Construct 2 is indeed a powerful tool for 2D games, I've amazed that how easy to put elements onto the stage. And also I love the Event Sheet in C2, it's so much easier than Adobe Flash I use in collage days. The best of all... no complicated coding! If you're like me, not into writing codes, and wanted to create flexible 2D games easily, then C2 is probably one of the best option here. Another game engine I recommend is Clickteam's Fusion. Both interfaces are pretty visual and are intuitive & easy to follow.
Okay, that's for today. See you in next log.
